Post by: futch on December 19, 2007, 05:08:40 PM
On behalf of the admins and mods, have a safe and enjoyable <insert celebrated custom>.

I shall flagrantly steal fichtenfoo's santa fat suit photo for a splash image....

With apologies to the creators of Futurama ...

[To the tune of Santa Claus is coming to town]
He knows when you are sleeping,
He knows when you're on the can,
He'll hunt you down and blast your *ss
From here to Pakistan,
Oh!
You better not breathe,
You better not move,
You're better off dead,
I'm telling you dude,
Santa Claus is gunning you down
 :P

in case You do not understand
"same procedure as last year",

"Dinner for one " will explain.

Dinner for one is a TV cult classic over here
in germany this has been broadcasted
on TV every silvester evening for about 30 years
and you will probably watch it every year again
with your friends or family

- same procedure as every year -

Merry holidays to you all too.
The usual christmas-weather has arrived this week here in Holland: almost 10C and rain.
I wonder why all those christmas-songs are about snow and sitting together by the fireplace! ::)

Merry Christmas to you all!
As a Christian myself, I really hope all of you will get to know the true meaning of Christmas
so that we can continue to Ma.K together in heaven!

Spend good time with your family, friends, and/or plastic models!

A very merry and blessed Christmas/Kwanzaa/Chanoeka/Festivus/Xmas (or whatever tickles you denominational fancy) to all of you and to all your families/SO's/wifes/secret lovers/friends/kids/pets/ma.k kits. (just pick the appropriate options)

(Alas, as mentioned no white Christmas for the Dutch as par tradition, but at least we celebrate it two days in a row, so that kinda makes up for the lack of snow.)

Two days... ONLY two days! When I was over in Sweden we had a 3-day Christmas! And a white one at that! ;D

As a pilot I would like to share a little Christmas cheer with a true aviation story.  ;)

Santa Claus, like all pilots, gets regular visits from the Federal Aviation Administration, and the FAA examiner arrived last week for the pre-Christmas flight check.

In preparation, Santa had the elves wash the sled and bathe all the reindeer. Santa got his log book out and made sure all his paperwork was in order. He knew they would examine all his equipment and truly put Santa's flying skills to the test.

The examiner walked slowly around the sled. He checked the reindeer harnesses, the landing gear, and even Rudolph's nose. He painstakingly reviewed Santa's weight and balance calculations for sled's enormous payload.

Finally, they were ready for the check ride. Santa got in and fastened his seat belt and shoulder harness and checked the compass. Then the examiner hopped in carrying, to Santa's surprise, a shotgun.

"What's that for?!?" asked Santa incredulously. The examiner winked and said, "I'm not supposed to tell you this ahead of time," as he leaned over to whisper in Santa's ear, "but you're gonna lose an engine on takeoff."

A MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL!

J

haha, sounds like a red-neck christmas story where they end up mounting the lost 'engine' on the front of the sleigh  ;D

edit: speaking of red necks, i was at the supermarket last night buying stuff for Chrissie Eve dinner. wife asked me to grab a 30lb bag of carrots (general treats for the horses in training). some wise-arse red neck at the checkout says (with an outside voice) "looks like someone gonna be feeding the reindeer tomorrow".  everyone had a chuckle. heh.

The family and I have just gotten through with one of our holiday traditions, watching Alastair Sim as Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol" (1951). "....and as Tiny Tim once proclaimed, God bless us, everyone."
