Wow its hot in here Undecided, anyways dope kit pinktank and i would buy one even if they were free for you to make and produce because for the main fact that im from California let me be more specific Sacramento California and i cant support my love for mak and walk into my local hobby shop and let alone find a clear pka conversion. So play nice guys and mak on Smiley.

@ leopard- dont sweat it bro the forum homies are just real about this shit and thier work shows for it. But i see were your coming from to thats what happens when you get addicted to mak, well the finner pieces of mak i should say you'd be (as im jokingly saying this) better off being a drug addict easier on the wallet Cheesy Cheesy.

Thx for the info im pre ordering mine right now!

I dunno why everyone had to go and dogpile him for basically just saying that he likes it but can't afford it. That did kinda come off as prickly and oversensitive, especially as it came bundled with great gushing reassurances toward the "offended" kit maker.

Not saying the kit isn't actually as nice as that, just that there was some definite defensive overcompensation going on there for a moment.

It may not be useful marketing data, but that's no reason to say he can't or shouldn't say it. This is a social board after all: people should be able to talk casually and openly, like, you know, friends.

Almost the price of a full suit, for less than half a suit...
A bit of a strech if you ask me... Sad

Nothing positive and non-whiney about that at all...

Anyone is welcome to say whatever they want and that was never under contention like Scrap tried to make out. It's more about whether people should say these things just because they can hit the reply button faster than someone else. We could just as easily fill up threads with statements of how much we love the taste of bread or the nasty rash currently causing an itch on our genitals in this free-speech loving environment of the forums that we share.

The reality is; no one wants to hear any of that crap and the reply button is an option, not a prerequisite.

PINKTANK Nice work, kudos for seeing a project like this through. Will this be released through Brickworks on a permanent basis, or just a short one off run?
I ask cause I have enough parts leftover from a couple of skinheads to turn these into full kits.
I'd be happy to pay the price of a kit to turn my leftovers into a suit, especially as that kit isn't available outside of a Hornisse.  Wink

Not whiny, just disappointed. Not positive either, true, but since when is that an absolute obligation in itself? He wasn't rude, just down. He clarified himself, and it should have ended there, but even if he hadn't, the responses he got were largely the same kind of needless his initial post was/is assumed to be. If the criticism (not really criticism, but that wasn't clear at first) isn't worthwhile to read, then a defense isn't worthwhile to write. Just shrug and move on.

So... that "free speech loving" bit was sarcasm? What's the corollary to that? Between that and the straw man about OT bread and rashes (are you trying to equate disagreeing or being incorrect with being OT?), I'm not really sure what you're on about... other than that apparently I'm the bad guy too now... for saying people should just shrug and be friends?

If he doesn't have to say it, then you don't have to pay attention to it if he does. Why are you pulling feathers over it enough to strike back at someone who's saying it's nothing to get worked up about?

On the topic at hand though, I think it's pretty dang cool that injection molded styrene can be done on this level at all.

I'd love to buy one of these, as I have a partially ruined Heinrich left over from a past forum challenge buried on a back shelf. The improved forearm parts and the non-smoked clear parts for me make this a much better deal than buying a second HO kit in order to fix/finish that. Without something like this, I'd honestly probably just end up throwing it out eventually instead of finishing it.

I dont know why some are thinking its expensive...with the us dollar dumping it just reflects the money market...if we don't support our fellow modelers who take the chance to bring something to market were would our hobby be.... after all if it wasn't for the Ma.k fans Gk makers and their supporters (some of whom are members on this forum) it may never have gotten the resurgence we are all enjoying. Well done pinktank and thanks for adding to the mix.

Thanks for the update I will order one for sure. As an employe of a Gk company I under stand the cost and am more than willing to pay my hard earned money for one. One thing I will say is for all my buddies who like to post about prices is it can be discouraging to those who produce these items. There is not a huge profit in them and a lot of them are done out of passion.... So it just is somewhat undermining to always have negatives about prices... Hell its those prices that pay for my education..... My 2 cents..... sorry

I am sorry for causing the fight that need not be done by the effect of my remark.
I think that this price is after all high when I am a general consumer.
However, it is the truth in me who produced it that it is difficult to lower the price any further.
Please do not fight in the forum.
It is natural that there are various opinions.
I do not get angry at Mr. Leopard214.

Pinktank... did you know you could make a lot of Star Wars fans happy if you made a couple of styrene recreations of custom part combinations that ILM made in styrene in 1975?

• custom Sandcrawler link tracks that fit the 1/16th Tamiya donor parts
• The Y-Wing Fighter canopy
• The Y-Wing Fighter engine "bracing" that is also used along the engine baffles on the Millennium Falcon

These were all hand made injection styrene!

If you ever decide to offer styrene injection services, I know a lot of hungry customers!

Thank you Mr. PinkTank!

I had the idea of making a PKA Ausf.H crouching behind a corner, holding his panzerfaust waiting for a target of opportunity and your perfectly clean canopy gives me the right feeling to start this project  Cheesy

A big THANK YOU Mr. Pinktank!  Smiley
Preordered two, and really can't wait to see them in flesh!
I'm a big fan of early PKA design, as most of us, and this is just what we needed to build decently these kits.
Congrats for making such things.

I placed and order for one today. Yes it is pricy, but so is everything else in our hobby. I regularly (knowingly) overpay for kits and supplies at my local hobby shops just to help perpetuate their survival. I am a patron of this hobby and it is my pleasure (not my necessity) to support choice and creativity. If you will remember was no new Ma.k. to be had (at any price) for about 15 years. So choice is good.
As for speech of the forum it should never be muzzled. But we should all strive to be polite. We should learn to take some posts with a grain of salt. We should all keep it in perspective. In the end they are just toys.

As an armor guy, I'm quite used to updating or converting a kit using resin parts that typically cost more than the kit itself.  That's the cost of the hobby.  If I don't want to do that, I have the choice to go with the the original kit, or to model a cheaper subject.

I'm just starting on the original P.K.A. kit and from the little bit of work I've put into it, I can tell that this is going to require a lot of TLC to turn into a model I'll be happy with.  PINKTANK has invested a bunch of money to turn out a product which reduces the time and effort and I appreciate that.  For my next P.K.A. I'll probably buy one but I wanted to do an OOB build for this one, with a few tweaks such as making the hands actually grip the NeuPanzerfaust.

One can look at PINKTANK's update set as 'less than half a suit, for almost the price of a full suit' or as 'an investment to save yourself a lot of time, effort and frustration'.  Bravo to PINKTANK for taking the risk and investing the time and money to produce the set.  While we'd all like everything to be cheaper, I'm sure PINKTANK's got a family to feed and we each get to make our own decision about whether we think his set is worth spending our money on.

While I do think it's a bit over-sensitive to jump on Leopard for expressing his opinion in quite a mild way, I've also seen similar mild expressions quickly turn into flame wars that get very ugly, so I can understand and sympathize with Lin.K's sensitivity.

Cheers,

Neil

Got my PKA remodelling Kit in the mail today Cheesy
2 months from my order Angry, but it is OK if you live in Italy Roll Eyes
Al least I have my packet.

I was studying instruction sheet.
There are some ball joints required to making moveable arms but aren't included in the box Huh
Any info about the right Option Part I have to order in my next shipping from Japan?
Otherwise, I have to go with the usual aluminium wire+aves sculpted joints covers  Undecided
>Here< is the instruction sheet

PS: In my personal opinion, the transparent sprue is worth the buy alone: it's the only way to model a PKA with closed cockpit.
And you get two other sprue as a bonus, with parts for arms and legs!  Grin

I just got mine and have also discovered that some additional poly cap parts are required if you want the arms to be movable. I used my limited Japanese translation skills and determined that the plastic parts where called Poly Unit. I discovered that Poly Unit is a brand name for Kotobukiya PE option parts. The closest matches I could find where as follows .http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYP-138 or http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYD-116B  and finally http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYD-114G there are no measurements so I have no idea what to buy. I am probably just going to go the solder wire and epoxy putty approach.

Francesco Benedettini

I apologize for the delay reply.
Necessary for ball joint to cause the movable arm item is made ??as someone says Kotobukiya Baron VonMindnumb.
There could not be described in the instructions are in many ways.
Do you need that product?
If you buy a NeuPanzerfaust containet / carrierbox you can be supplied with a ball joint.
Ball joint is about 200 yen in Japanese yen.
I am waiting for your reply.

Hi PINKTANK,

Thank you for your offer!
I was a bit disappointed what I found in the box wasn't exactly what I expected and I have to wait to start building my PKA.
Having no clear idea what ball joint I need, I solved the matter with aluminium wire and Aves Apoxie putty.
