I'm using the latest Chrome and have an issue with the Preview window showing only one line at a time while checking a draft before posting. Also, scrolling through the preview is ~1.5 line at a time which makes it unusable.
Is there a workaround?
Note: this issue has been there for a while and has persisted over a number of browser updates.
Thanks

System specs:
Chrome, version 42.0.2311.90, portable, Liberkey Launcher.
Win 7 Pro, 64-bit & Win 7 Ent, 32-bit

I checked on Version 42.0.2311.90 m. It says it is up to date but I don't really keep track of it.

The preview window looks fine.

I had this problem a couple of years ago on Firefox on a Mac.

It's OK in Firefox 37.0.1 and in IE 11.  It must be specific to Chrome.

Same issue with safari (iPad iOS Cool. I will see if anything can be done but I don't really want to start writing browser/device specific code. You do have the option of editing your post tho.

Just edited the original post, adding quick system specs for Chrome.
Same issue also with Opera 28.0, portable, Liberkey Launcher on Win 7 Ent, 32-bit

Preview window operates normally on:
- IE 11 (normal install)
- Firefox 37.0.2, portable, Liberkey Launcher
Win 7 Pro, 64-bit

Found the issue. For some reason the forum software thinks the preview window should be 20px high. I wonder if this is a setting. BK ?

edit; nevermind.  it's tied to the javascript library provided by SMF. The library has a few methods which rely on certain browser versions. Being an older file, I suspect it doesnt support the newer versions.  I will see if I can tweak a few things.

LOL. I decided to ignore the library tho, opting for a "big hammer" fix.

Why can't I see the forum when I'm logged out and why are there so many dead pictures on here?

Access is limited to for guests to control traffic. If you are logged out, you are a guest.

Photobucket use to be a free image service. Recently they screwed their users by charging for image hosting. Many didn't pay so threads lost their images.

You can edit manually each post and add ~original at the end of the code line beetwin the tag.
This allow the pics to be shown on the forum even if the user didn't pay.

We did it on our french forum.

We dont host images here ($). Everyone uses 3rd party image hosting. if the host changes their hosting rules, its possible images will disappear.

Yeah, but that's a hack, not a solution.  That will last until Photobucket becomes aware and takes steps to prevent it.  That's how the whole Photobucket flap started in the first place-account holders using popup blockers to get around the increased ad content, leading to a loss of revenue.  It's better just to find a new host altogether.

Yes, but this way moderators can save and rehost other users pics. This is a way to avoid losing 75% of a forum content.
Topics without pics are useless in our hobby.

I don't think any moderators in any forum are downloading and saving any linked photos locally, and then re-upping them to a new host, then updating the posts with new image links to the new host.  That's a monumental amount of work, followed by the amount of work required to edit broken links in all of the relevant posts in any given forum.  Most moderators probably don't have that kind of time.

I agree that posts with broken image links are useless, but the hack is not the solution to Photobucket's action.  The solution is for everyone to find other hosts to replace Photobucket, which pretty much what everyone's done since Photobucket announced that they were eliminating free hosting.

Yep. While losing content sucks, this is a free forum. The traffic alone pushes the limit of remaining free. If we have to start storing images, then hosting costs increase. We dont really want to be charging people to use the forum.
